Who We Are

We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, non-denominational church situated on a 23-acre campus inside the city of Roanoke, Virginia.

We are a values-driven church. We coach, activate, and send people to advance God’s Kingdom on earth. We value a passionate and Spirit-filled expression of worship. GCC Roanoke is a safe place for wounded people and a highly creative and forward-moving place for emerging leaders. Click here to find out more about our values.

In late 2016 we doubled the size of our building creating a new sanctuary and over 3 times more space for our kids ministry, gccKiDS!

Chris Stup (lead pastor) and his family.

From Pastor Chris:

I walked away from God and the church as a late teen and didn’t return until my mid-30s. Sure, I saw things that didn’t add up, the ugly side of Christianity. But I mainly walked away because I chose to live a life incongruent with God’s will. My personal preferences and desires took precedence over the good plan that a loving God had for my life. And as you can imagine, that didn’t go well. I hit bottom. And when you get that low, God usually sends someone.

I married Nikki in 2007. She is brilliant. Nikki is a Licensed Professional Counselor and together we raise two children we thought we’d never have. Years of infertility and loss ended when Greyson and Langley came along. Raising children is hard, but God is good. We love our kids!

Nikki and I want to help people grow and build them up. We don’t want people to miss opportunities and waste precious time. We want them to thrive! We want to see lives transformed by Christ as ours have been. We love encouraging and equipping people to succeed while watching God do His amazing work in their lives.
